About Us
Red Wing Downtown Main Street is a non-profit association of individuals, businesses, and community organizations interested in the promotions, preservation and development of the downtown district.
History
The Red Wing Downtown Main Street program was formed in 1997. With the stagnation of redevelopment of historic buildings the downtown area was vulnerable to deterioration and loss of structure and sites important to its historic character. The Red Wing Downtown Main Street council sought to serve as a catalyst for reinvestment in the downtown by undertaking activities designed to continue preservation of the traditional downtown area as a heathly, economically vital center of commerce and social activity, and to promote preservation, rehiblitation and reuse of commercial, civic, residental, and religious buildings in the traditional business district.
Red Wing Downtown Main Street is dedicated to creating a sense of community pride and economic prosperity in downtown Red Wing.
